Cypress House is a graceful Bahamian Conch Mansion, built in 1888. Its rooms are large (20'x14'), bright and airy. The Simonton House was built by the original owner for his daughter when she married, approximately twenty years later. While some of the Simonton House rooms are smaller than those in the main house, they are well-proportioned with lovely tiled bathrooms and elegant glass block shower stalls. All rooms in both houses are decorated in an eclectic mix of furniture ranging from wicker to antiques and have ceiling fans, a/c, color cable tv and telephones.

Cypress House Studios (formerly William Anthony House/Ramon Navarro Guest Suites) ls located three doors up the street, at 613 Caroline Street. The recently renovated building is one of a pair of historic mirror twin homes built around 1895, and contains four well appointed guest suites and two comfortable guest rooms, all with private baths. There is a 40' heated lap pool and sundeck on the main Cypress House property. Guests in Cypress House Studios have full access to all Cypress House facilities and amenities. Rates include an elaborate continental breakfast buffet as well as a nightly complimentary cocktail hour with beer, wine, mixed drinks and snacks served poolside.

The Blue Room (Room 5). Originally the master bedroom of the main house, this room on the 2nd floor is magnificent, a room made for romance and luxury. Its soft blue and white tones complement the ceiling, which was handpainted in a floral design by a former owner decades ago. As you gaze at it from your king size bed, dreams of a more gracious era drift through your mind. A small refrigerator is large enough for champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries and midnight snacks, which you can enjoy as you snuggle on the couch. Two double doors open onto a second floor verandah with a private sitting area overlooking historic Caroline Street. The 14'x14' bathroom combines present day conveniences like a huge walk-in glass block shower, cozy corner tub and double sink with touches of the past - a chandelier and stained glass windows. Indulge yourself and relax in the Blue Room's decadent aura!

Rooms 13 through 16 each have one queen bed and private bath. All located in the Simonton house on 1st or 2nd floor. Each has distinctive features that charm. One has French doors opening onto our sundeck, another is tucked away beyond the pool with a private patio filled with lush tropical foliage.

Room 4 is located on the second floor of the main house, with a semiprivate verandah overlooking historic Caroline Street. It has a rice carved four poster king bed, antique wardrobe, sitting area with two chairs and small table, and new tiled bath with shower.

Room 3, located at the top of the stairs on the second floor, is a bright room with two queen beds, antique wardrobe and dresser. Wear your fluffy Cypress House robe to cross the hall and, with your private key, unlock your bathroom, where you can luxuriate in a bubble bath and soak your tensions away.

Room 8 has a king bed and a private bath includes skylight windows and an in-room sitting area which includes a full size sofa sleeper bed. Room 8 is also rumored to be the home of our resident ghost. Sightings are few and far between, but perhaps you'll be one of the lucky ones!

Room 1 (pictured on the right, below) is a bright, spacious room with a king bed and double doors that open onto the first floor verandah. Room 1 shares a bathroom with Room 2, which was originally the Library. We have kept the library shelves stocked with books for your reading pleasure. Room 2 has two queen size beds. Rooms 9 and 10, each with one queen bed, open into the garden near the pool, share a bathroom, and together form a "junior" suite. Room 6 and Room 7 (pictured on the left) both have double beds and share a bathroom on the the third floor of the main house.

Rooms 11 and 12 comprise a 2 Bedroom suite. One bedroom has 1 queen bed; the other has 2 queen beds. Both rooms share the living room, kitchenette and bath. The suite is ideal for 2 or 3 couples traveling together. Located on 1st floor of the Simonton House, the suite opens into our lush tropical garden.

Cypress House Studios contains four well appointed guest suites and two comfortable guest rooms, all with private baths (some baths are handicapped accessible.) Some of the studios are featured below.

The Honeymoon Suite (Room 21) is located on the ground floor at the front of the house, opening onto the front porch. It has one queen size bed and private bath. It has a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and sink.

Room 22 is located on the ground floor at the rear of the main house. It opens onto a deck. It has one queen size bed with sofa sleeper and kitchenette.

Room 23 is located on the second floor of main house, and opens onto a deck overlooking the garden. It has one queen size bed with queen sofa sleeper and kitchenette. It features exposed Dade County pine walls and cathedral ceiling. Can be combined with 24 to form a two bedroom, 2-bathroom suite.

Room 24 is located on the second floor of main house. It is a true one bedroom suite, with queen sofa sleeper in the living room. It is a large unit with high ceiling and exposed Dade County pine walls. It includes a kitchenette, of course. Can be combined with 23 to form a 2-bedroom suite

Room 25 is located on the ground floor of the Conch Cottage, this is an ADA compliant unit with extra wide door and handicapped accessible bathroom. One queen size bed, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Small but comfortable, opens onto deck.. Room 26 is located on the second floor of the Conch Cottage, and includes a queen size bed, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Cozy and comfortable, this room opens onto the second floor deck.
